|Indication||Type 2 Diabetes in obese & juvenile diabetics.|
|Contradiction||Diabetic ketoacidosis and precoma; renal failure or dysfunction; acute conditions with the potential to alter renal function such as dehydration, severe infection, shock, intravascular administration of iodinated contrast agents|
|Adult Dosage||Adult: 500 mg two or three times daily or 850 mg once or twice daily, with or after meals. Should be taken with food; or as prescribed by a physician.|
|Side Effects||Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain and loss of appetite|
